Merry Christmas! Thursday, December 25
What is meant to be one of the happiest times of the year can be one of the saddest for many individuals. While we can find joy in the season, it can carry sadness, especially with the loss of a loved one, no matter how long they have been gone. So, each year I offer what is known as a “Blue Christmas Service.” It is a separate worship service held on the ‘longest night of the year.’ This special service provides a space for reflection, hope, and healing for people experiencing sadness, grief, or loss during the holiday season. It’s a worship service that acknowledges difficult feelings and experiences of those who have lost a loved one, experienced hardships such as job loss or other struggles, and provides a place of support and compassion.
If you are struggling with this holiday season, please consider this my personal invitation to our Blue Christmas Service. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4). Jesus is with us in our joyous times and our darkest times. Christmas continues to be one of my favorite times of the year, despite feeling a sense of loss. The lights remind us of the light that came into the dark world through Jesus Christ. When there is snow, it reminds us that our sins are made as white as snow. We celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior. So, wherever you find yourself this holiday season, I pray that you experience the love and peace of Jesus.

Limeville Church is part of the
Global Methodist Church
(Northeast Annual Conference).
- A HOLY SPIRIT INSPIRED MOVEMENT -
Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly throughout the Northeast USA and beyond.
We embrace our Methodist heritage to understand that the world is our mission field. We make and mature disciples who make disciples. Our goal is to equip and empower Christians to live ON MISSION – and to share the good news of the Gospel where they live, work, study, and play. The Northeast Annual Conference is committed to keeping Jesus Christ at the center of it all as we recognize and deploy the gifts and contributions of each part of the church in making disciples and sharing the Gospel. Our exciting new movement is theologically conservative and founded in orthodox Wesleyan doctrine.
